About the Role

The company is looking for a Senior Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor to act as the day‑to‑day client interface on a large‑scale, mission‑critical data centre programme. The role is responsible for delivering value‑added cost management, ensuring the project is on time, on budget and meets the highest standards through strong governance and stakeholder engagement. The successful candidate will lead teams, embed Turner & Townsend’s purpose and values, and operate both independently and collaboratively. The position falls within the Real Estate department and adheres to the company’s Business Management Systems, delivery methodologies, and, where applicable, SOX control requirements. • Develop and maintain detailed cost plans and estimates through design and delivery phases. • Produce and present monthly cost reports, executive summaries, and funding data to stakeholders. • Coordinate cost information from design teams, contractors, and vendors for validation and auditing. • Lead procurement strategy, pricing reviews, scope validation, and commercial negotiations. • Manage final accounts, change control, and post‑contract cost variances. • Support cost risk analysis, scenario planning, contingency management, and commitment tracking. • Implement robust cost control systems, including Earned Value Management (EVM). • Integrate cost with schedule and scope, collaborating with project controls teams. • Drive value engineering initiatives and cost optimization based on engineering priorities. • Monitor market trends and provide timely cost insight. • Serve as primary client interface, delivering executive‑level updates and ensuring service excellence. • Mentor junior team members and promote a high‑performance culture. • Ensure compliance with internal Business Management Systems and SOX controls where applicable.

What You Bring

• Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering or a related field. • Possess 5–7+ years of cost management experience in mission‑critical data centre or similar projects. • Demonstrate strong knowledge of MEP systems, budgeting, financial reporting, and EVM. • Expertise in procurement strategies and commercial management of contractor/vendor contracts. • RICS accreditation or progress toward certification is advantageous. • Exhibit excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
