About the Role
In this role the specialist will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a variety of mechanical systems, including pumps, gearboxes, compressors, valves, and associated piping, while also performing routine preventive maintenance such as oil changes, battery checks, and lubrication. Day‑to‑day duties include following established safety regulations, keeping the work area clean, identifying and mitigating hazards, reading and interpreting equipment schematics, producing work that meets specifications and industry standards, and monitoring progress for code compliance. • Operate hand and power tools, including pneumatic wrenches, lathes, welding equipment, and laser alignment devices. • Perform routine preventive maintenance such as oil changes, battery checks, and lubrication. • Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical equipment including pumps, gearboxes, compressors, valves, and piping. • Weld and fabricate broken components, pipe, and structural steel. • Attach and read test instruments to troubleshoot equipment malfunctions. • Replace and install new mechanical equipment like pumps, gearboxes, and valves. • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and wear required PPE. • Follow job‑site safety protocols, maintain a clean work area, and address hazards. • Read and interpret equipment schematics, plans, and specifications. • Deliver quality work meeting industry standards and monitor progress for code compliance. • Perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 80 lb and working at heights.

What You Bring
The Industrial Maintenance Mechanical Specialist position requires at least five years of industrial mechanical maintenance experience or NCCER certification, with a preference for NCCER‑certified candidates. Applicants must successfully pass a pre‑employment background check and physical examination. Candidates must possess a high school diploma or GED, strong communication skills, and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as repetitive movements, overhead work, and lifting up to 80 lb; they must also be willing to work extended hours in various weather conditions and wear appropriate personal protective equipment. • Communicate effectively through written reports and clear understanding of instructions.
