About the Role

In this position the manager acts as a strategic partner to operational and account leadership, ensuring that commercial initiatives align with corporate goals, meet client expectations, and achieve profitability targets. Key duties include developing go‑to‑market and channel strategies, building relationships with key customers and market leaders, identifying growth opportunities, supporting pricing and value propositions, overseeing revenue forecasting and margin management, reviewing financial reports and KPIs, and collaborating with engineering, account management, operations, and business development teams. The role also involves presenting commercial insights to senior leadership, maintaining compliance with internal policies and contracts, managing risk through commercial controls, supporting bid approvals and financial modeling, mentoring team members, and fostering cross‑functional collaboration. • Develop go‑to‑market sales, channel partnership, promotion, and marketing strategies. • Build relationships with decision‑makers and market leaders to capture trends and customer needs. • Identify growth opportunities, market trends, and competitive advantages to increase market share. • Support pricing strategy development and client value proposition creation. • Oversee commercial performance, including revenue forecasting, margin management, and cost control. • Review financial reports and key performance indicators to ensure profitability and compliance. • Assist the GWS Application Specialist in acquiring new customers and providing technical support. • Collaborate with Engineering to inform new product development based on market requirements. • Work with account management, operations, and business development to ensure service excellence. • Present commercial insights and performance updates to senior leadership and stakeholders. • Ensure commercial activities adhere to internal policies and contractual obligations. • Manage risk exposure through commercial controls and governance processes. • Support bid approvals, financial modeling, and investment business case preparation. • Mentor team members on commercial best practices and product portfolios. • Foster cross‑functional collaboration to align strategy and execution.

The Segment Manager, reporting to the VP of Sales, is based in the West Region and is classified as exempt. The role requires regular travel, including up to 50% travel time, and focuses on leading the commercial strategy, financial performance, and growth for the GWS Aerospace and Space Structures market. Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics or a related field (MBA preferred) and have over seven years of commercial or business management experience, preferably in manufacturing. Strong financial acumen, analytical ability, negotiation, stakeholder management, and communication skills are required. Physical requirements include a valid driver’s license, ability to travel 50% of the time, prolonged desk work, and occasional lifting of up to 15 pounds.
