Design transmission lines using PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, and related software.

About the Role
The designer will lead transmission line design efforts, create detailed engineering documents, ensure compliance with industry standards, and mentor junior staff while occasionally visiting project sites. • Perform transmission line design using PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE (wood, steel, concrete). • Develop project drawings and documents such as plans, profiles, bill of materials, assembly and foundation details. • Apply RRC, client, and industry standards independently, with oversight from senior engineers. • Ensure designs meet project specifications, design requirements, and company quality standards. • Contribute to creation, improvement, and implementation of internal design procedures and standards. • Mentor and train designers/technicians and share technical expertise. • Conduct occasional project site visits. • Perform foundation design using FAD Tools and/or LPile.

What You Bring
Candidates should have an associate’s or technical degree (or equivalent experience), at least five years of transmission line design experience, and strong proficiency in PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, AutoCAD or MicroStation, and Microsoft Office. They must possess solid communication and organizational skills, knowledge of relevant design codes, and be authorized to work in the United States. • Associate’s or technical school degree, or equivalent education and experience. • Minimum five years of transmission line engineering design experience (fewer years considered with strong background). • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD or MicroStation. • Proficiency with PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE (wood, steel, concrete). • Strong verbal and written communication, attention to detail, and organizational skills. • Knowledge of NESC, RUS, ASCE 7 design codes, material procurement, and construction work packages. • Authorization to work full-time in the United States. • Preferred location in Round Rock, TX. • Ability to lead a team of designers/technicians. • Experience with transmission line voltages of 345 kV and above. • Experience with underground medium to extra‑high voltage line designs.
