About the Role

The role assists skilled craft workers on utility line crews, performing duties appropriate to training and skill level under the direction of a foreman. The laborer must follow instructions safely and efficiently, be reliable, and contribute to overall project success. Prior experience is preferred but not required. • Eliminate waste such as waiting, rework, transport, storage, and time. • Ask a supervisor if unsure about safety or work issues. • Learn and understand all safety hazards related to the work. • Safely operate work‑related tools and equipment. • Maintain positive relationships with crew members. • Produce high‑quality work safely and productively. • Provide feedback to ensure materials, tools, equipment, and information are available. • Move in confined, cluttered, uneven areas and climb/maintain balance on structures, stairs, ladders, scaffolds. • Use hands frequently to grasp, lift, handle, carry; lift/push/pull up to 50 lb occasionally. • Safety‑sensitive role involving operation of vehicles, equipment, power tools, and handling hazardous materials.

What You Bring

Safety is a core focus; the position is classified as safety‑sensitive and requires adherence to all safety standards, use of personal protective equipment, and awareness of hazards. Physical demands include frequent reaching, climbing, lifting up to 50 lb, and working up to 12‑hour shifts in varied temperatures and outdoor conditions. • Use effective math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide). • Hold NCCER Core Curriculum certification or a high school diploma (preferred). • One to three+ years experience in industrial/commercial construction (preferred). • Possess effective verbal and written communication skills. • Wear required PPE: steel‑toe shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hat, vest. • Reach above shoulder height and below waist frequently; stoop, kneel, bend occasionally. • Use phone, computer, email on a limited basis for communication. • Work up to 12‑hour shifts performing hard physical work in varying temperatures and outdoor conditions.
