What You Bring

We are seeking an experienced Signalling Discipline Manager to lead a team of engineers delivering project services, overseeing staff assignments, recruitment, training and performance management. The role involves coordination with systems engineering, manufacturing, configuration control, safety assurance and support functions, and requires establishing effective processes to meet business objectives and regulatory standards. The Discipline Manager will also manage engineering administration, review technical work, develop programmes, set operational policies and address technical challenges. The ideal candidate holds a bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical or electronics engineering (or equivalent) and is registered on the National Engineering Register with membership in a relevant professional institution such as Engineers Australia. A minimum of 15 years of professional experience in the signalling rail domain, covering specification, design, modification, installation, commissioning and testing, is required, along with state-specific engineering registration. Candidates should have 10–15 years of signalling design/assurance experience, including expertise in interlocking, TMS, ETCS and signalling interfaces to trackside and onboard systems. Experience in safety assurance, RAM, system safety, systems engineering, and familiarity with Australian and international standards such as EN50126/8/9 is essential, as is a demonstrated ability to act as a technical authority, prepare detailed estimates and manage budgets and resources during project execution. • Hold a bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical or electronics engineering (or equivalent). • Minimum 15 years of signalling rail experience covering specification, design, modification, installation, commissioning and testing. • Be registered on the National Engineering Register and a member of a relevant professional institution (e.g., Engineers Australia). • Possess 10–15 years of signalling design/assurance experience, including interlocking, TMS, ETCS and signalling interfaces. • Demonstrated expertise in safety assurance, RAM, system safety, and systems engineering. • Familiarity with Australian and international standards, especially EN50126/8/9. • Ability to prepare accurate detailed estimates and manage budgets and resources throughout project execution.
