Job Highlights
About the Role
The Senior Electrical Engineer (SEE) at Schneider Electric is tasked with delivering comprehensive electrical design solutions that adhere to international safety standards while safeguarding customer interests. The role leverages extensive experience to evaluate feasibility, cost implications, and maintenance considerations, and to guide R&D initiatives and quality support services. The SEE collaborates closely with customers, sub‑consultants, and internal teams throughout the project lifecycle, from concept through construction. Responsibilities include interpreting local codes, generating detailed design documentation, conducting code analyses, and leading the basis of design. During construction, the engineer provides technical clarification, validates contractor deliverables, and ensures accurate as‑built records. • Develop design proposals, specifications, and drawings to assess feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements. • Ensure designs comply with IEC/UL standards and protect customer interests. • Lead meetings and interviews with customers and sub‑consultants. • Create design documents including equipment identification, single‑line diagrams, and load calculations. • Review, solicit, and approve sub‑consultant proposals to deliver complete design packages. • Perform code analysis and develop the project’s basis of design, including redundancy and detailed calculations. • Provide engineering support to other teams, factories, commissioning, subcontractors, and site operations. • Support system sequence of operation and respond to RFIs during construction. • Validate internal and external design deliverables, attend construction meetings, and assist with changes, value engineering, and change orders. • Produce as‑built drawings from redlines and site verification. • Continuously update expertise via workshops, certifications and professional networks; act as SME and train other engineers. • Participate in safety‑related meetings and ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards. • Ensure proper grounding according to IEC, IEEE, and TIA‑607‑B requirements; MV design experience is a plus.
