About the Role
The role involves providing local technical assistance for the design, development, and construction of infrastructure projects across public and private sectors, including research, concept development, and documentation, while ensuring quality standards for design, safety, and functionality. As part of WSP’s global consulting focus on the energy transition, the successful candidate will work on transmission line design for new lines, relocations, upgrades, and fiber optic additions, supporting engineering tasks to develop technical, social, and ethical skills. Responsibilities include assisting with project research, field work, preliminary design calculations, preparing final design plans, special provisions, cost estimates, maintaining documentation, completing training, and adhering to WSP’s Code of Conduct. • Provide design, research, and documentation support for overhead transmission line projects. • Conduct field work, preliminary calculations, and assist in preparing final design plans and cost estimates. • Maintain project documentation and follow WSP’s Code of Conduct and safety policies. • Participate in training and develop technical, social, and ethical engineering skills.

What You Bring
Candidates must be enrolled in an accredited Civil Engineering (or related) undergraduate program, graduating May 2026 or later, with 0‑1 years of experience, basic technical writing and software skills, U.S. work authorization, and a commitment to safety and flexible schedules. Preferred qualifications include Engineer‑in‑Training certification, familiarity with design software such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ArcGIS, prior internship experience, professional organization involvement, a GPA of 2.75 or higher, coursework in structural analysis, concrete, steel, soils, foundations, surveying, and strong attention to detail. • Enrolled in an accredited Civil Engineering (or related) program, graduating May 2026 or later. • 0–1 year of experience with basic proficiency in technical writing and engineering software. • Authorized to work in the United States and able to work flexible schedules with occasional travel. • Preferred: Engineer-in-Training certification and experience with MicroStation, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ArcGIS, etc. • Preferred: Prior internship, GPA ≥ 2.75, relevant coursework (structural analysis, concrete, steel, soils, foundations, surveying).
