About the Role
The Groundman Transmission role is an entry-level position focused on construction, maintenance, and repair of electrical transmission systems. The employee works safely on both energized and de-energized lines, strings overhead wire, sets poles and anchors, and performs related tasks as required. • Perform new construction, maintenance, and repair on energized and de‑energized transmission lines safely. • String overhead wire and set poles, anchors, and structures. • Assist with pole framing, setting, and removal, including proper grounding and work‑zone setup. • Operate and maintain company vehicles, tools, hand lines, rigging equipment, and PPE. • Follow DOT inspection procedures for vehicles and equipment. • Apply basic rigging techniques, knot tying, and use of Kellum grips. • Conduct basic bucket‑rescue and escape procedures. • Identify and handle various line‑work materials, chain saws, and bush axes safely. • Work at heights and in confined spaces, adhering to minimum approach distances and flag/tag protocols. • Inspect rubber goods, covers, and personal protective equipment for condition. • Communicate effectively using company radio and follow directions. • Travel long distances on short notice and work extended periods at multiple job sites.

What You Bring
The job demands regular standing, walking, lifting over 50 lb, and the ability to work outdoors in inclement weather, loud noise, and exposure to fumes or mechanical vibration. Employees must follow safety rules, wear PPE, and be prepared for overtime, weekends, and holidays. • Maintain physical stamina to lift over 50 lb and perform rigorous labor. • Hold a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and be eligible for overtime.
