About the Role
The Middle Level Tester (Tech 5) is responsible for testing commercial HVAC systems to ensure they meet quality, production, and engineering specifications. The role requires identifying and correcting issues promptly while adhering to safety and quality standards. Key duties include coordinating coworker tasks, training new staff, and managing parts availability to keep production schedules on track. The tester operates recovery and reclaim equipment to remove Freon, runs test units from the production line, troubleshoots defects, and performs wiring, brazing, and assembly as needed. • Coordinate coworker activities to meet production standards and schedules • Train new employees on testing procedures • Ensure parts availability and adherence to production timelines • Operate recovery/reclaim machines to remove Freon before leak repairs • Test production units to verify compliance with engineering specifications • Troubleshoot and repair defects in test units • Verify units are built according to work orders and specifications • Perform wiring, brazing, and assembly tasks as required • Charge units with Freon to meet engineering specifications • Locate and repair leaks using brazing equipment • Maintain a safe, productive work environment and meet production schedules

What You Bring
Candidates must possess at least vocational or technical training, along with 0‑5 years of relevant industry experience. A 608 Universal EPA Refrigerant license is required, and additional education is considered advantageous for career growth. The position demands strong verbal and written communication skills, the ability to work in a fast‑paced environment, and coordination with management and other departments to ensure timely, high‑quality delivery.
