About the Role
In this position, the Senior CAD Designer will lead the conversion of conceptual concepts into detailed civil design documents using AutoCAD Civil 3D and GIS tools, oversee preliminary and final layouts, and coordinate closely with project managers and engineers to keep projects on schedule. • Transform conceptual designs into detailed AutoCAD Civil 3D and GIS documents. • Develop preliminary layouts and final designs, integrating engineering notes, survey data, shapefiles, and topographic mapping. • Prepare civil construction plans for wind and solar projects, including site layouts, roadway alignments, profiles, cross sections, drainage, grading, erosion control, and construction specifications. • Conduct thorough reviews of drawings and deliverables for accuracy and compliance with industry standards. • Serve as senior point of contact, coordinating with project management and engineering teams to drive milestones. • Implement and maintain document control systems to organize revisions and project information. • Manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and adapt quickly to changing timelines. • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior staff while fostering a collaborative multidisciplinary environment. • Utilize advanced Civil 3D features such as surface and corridor creation, pipe networks, grading tools, and Sheet Set Manager procedures. • Develop and enforce advanced CAD standards to streamline design processes and reduce design time. • Communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

What You Bring
Candidates must have five to seven years of advanced experience with Civil 3D and GIS, a bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related discipline (civil engineering preferred), strong Microsoft Office skills, and the ability to manage multiple complex tasks while mentoring junior staff. • Possess 5–7 years of high‑level experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and GIS tools. • Hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering, drafting/design, or a related field; civil engineering preferred. • Demonstrate strong knowledge of Civil 3D project organization, advanced drawing structures, and CAD industry standards. • Maintain proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite. • Experience in renewable energy or oil & gas sectors is a plus. • Hold a valid U.S. driver’s license. • Exhibit detail‑oriented approach with ability to manage multiple complex tasks concurrently.
