About the Role

The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for ensuring the quality of fabricated steel by reviewing design documents, inspecting materials, overseeing production, and conducting final inspections. This role works closely with the production team to guarantee that all fabricated steel meets design specifications and quality standards, requiring a detail‑oriented background in structural fabrication and quality control. • Communicate inspection results to quality, shipping, and other departments and recommend corrective actions. • Conduct final inspections of fabricated equipment to ensure quality and compliance. • Verify correct coating applications on fabricated steel. • Inspect incoming materials for specification compliance. • Perform mechanical inspections of static and rotating equipment, skids, coolers, tanks, and process piping. • Use measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, transits) and set up dial and laser alignment devices. • Work safely in elevated areas. • Participate in strategic planning activities and preparation of quality‑control ITPs. • Record all in‑process inspections to maintain traceability and documentation. • Verify product meets specifications and conduct pressure‑vessel, pipe, and structural steel inspections. • Utilize various quality‑control instruments to ensure consistent product performance. • Verify installation of systems, components, and equipment per discipline requirements. • Occasionally stoop, kneel, bend; lift, push, or pull up to 50 lb. • Work at heights and comply with all safety procedures. • Sit, stand, or walk for the duration of a shift.

What You Bring

The position requires the ability to work in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment, adhering to safety standards while performing frequent physical tasks such as lifting, stooping, and working at heights. Employees must regularly use hands, tools, and electronic devices to communicate with internal and external customers and maintain product traceability. • Hold ASNT SNT‑TC‑1A VT Level I, CWI, or CAWI certification. • Apply knowledge of AISC, AWS D1.1/D1.3/D1.6, ASME Sec I/VIII, B31.1/B31.3, and bolt‑up inspection standards. • Minimum 1 year experience in fabrication or manufacturing and in quality‑control inspection. • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment. • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify quality issues. • Experience with quality‑management tracking software and familiarity with industry standards. • High school diploma; proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Frequent use of hands for handling objects and operating telephone, computer, email, and other electronic devices.
