About the Role

The Tower Technician III installs, maintains, and operates wired, wireless, fiber-optic, and microwave telecom equipment. The role requires strict adherence to MasTec health, safety, and environmental policies as well as industry standards such as OSHA, TIA‑10‑48, NATE CTS, and ANSI. Daily tasks include climbing towers, erecting various tower types, offloading material, preparing sites, and assisting with antenna and transmission-line installations. • Implement MasTec Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and industry standards (OSHA, TIA‑10‑48, NATE CTS, ANSI). • Climb towers and ladders at various heights. • Erect various tower types. • Offload material and manage inventory. • Prepare and clean job sites. • Install new carriers on new-build and existing towers. • Assist tower erection using helicopters, cranes, and gin poles. • Assemble monopoles, weld and knock-down self-support, and guyed towers. • Install microwave, VHF, UHF, cellular, and FM broadcast antennas. • Install transmission lines, foam/air dielectric coaxial, hardline, and waveguides. • Install electrical foundations, grounding, conduits, and related electrical work. • Mentor less-experienced technicians and perform other assigned duties. • Prioritize safety daily.

What You Bring

Successful candidates are safety-oriented professionals with a track record of high-quality work and strong problem-solving skills. They enjoy hands-on, long-term projects, can work collaboratively with a team, and possess at least a high-school diploma and four years of tower experience. Physical capability to climb towers, lift 50 lb, work up to 12 hours, and a valid driver’s license are required. • Strong problem-solving and hands‑on approach. • High school diploma or equivalent. • Minimum 4 years tower‑technician experience. • Ability to read, comprehend, and follow printed instructions. • Working knowledge of safety standards and regulations; NWSA certification a plus. • Physical ability to climb towers, lift 50 lb, and work up to 12 hours. • Valid driver’s license meeting company policy.
