About the Role

The Sorter is responsible for correctly placing and sorting materials on the conveyor line. Duties include inspecting items, removing contaminants, stacking and dumping boxes, feeding wastepaper onto the line, and keeping the work area clean. • Inspect and sort materials by type, size, condition, color, or paper grade. • Remove contaminants from paper and the work area. • Stack and dump boxes, skids, and totes. • Load wastepaper onto the conveyor. • Clean the conveyor line and surrounding area. • Monitor machine startup and maintain proper speed. • Follow standard operating procedures for equipment operation and maintenance. • Report safety hazards and equipment malfunctions. • Attend weekly or monthly safety and operations meetings.

What You Bring

Physical demands include climbing, balancing, sitting, hearing, repetitive motions, and coordination of eye, hand, and foot. The role operates in indoor garage or shop settings as well as outdoors in inclement weather, heat, and humidity. • No prior experience required; high school diploma or GED preferred.
