About the Role

Mortenson is seeking a Project Manager to lead project quality, timeliness, and safety while mentoring the team and developing strong customer relationships. The role is available at both Level 1 and Level 2, allowing candidates to apply based on their experience and qualifications, with compensation determined by experience and location. The Project Manager will manage the overall financial health of projects, including subcontracts and suppliers, develop and maintain financial projections, allocate project estimates into the financial system, determine cost codes, approve invoices, and provide financials and billings to Accounting for timely payment. Responsibilities also include creating monthly owner billings, handling contract management and buyouts, overseeing the budget for trade partners and suppliers, leading assistant project managers and engineers, assigning jobs, facilitating career development, approving timecards, and serving as the main point of contact with owners and on‑site representatives. Additional duties involve executing and managing change orders, maintaining the project schedule and budget through completion, and providing high‑level management of quality, risk, safety, and compliance while building relationships across diverse backgrounds and organizational levels. • Oversee project financials, budgets, subcontracts, invoicing, and owner billings. • Allocate project estimates, set cost codes, and ensure timely payments. • Lead and mentor assistant project managers and engineers, assigning tasks and supporting career growth. • Act as primary liaison with owners and on‑site representatives, handling contracts and change orders. • Maintain project schedule, budget, quality, risk, safety, and compliance through completion. • Select and manage trade partners and suppliers within budget constraints. • Approve team timecards and provide performance feedback.

What You Bring

Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in construction, civil, architectural engineering, or construction management, or possess equivalent experience, a valid driver’s license, and be able to travel up to 100%. They should have at least six years of construction management experience, be detail‑oriented, possess basic knowledge of construction law, show proficiency with Microsoft Office and relevant web applications, and demonstrate strong communication, active listening, and knowledge of EEO, inclusive behaviors, and affirmative action plans. • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in construction‑related field or equivalent experience. • Possess at least six years of construction management experience and ability to travel up to 100%. • Demonstrate strong communication, active listening, and knowledge of construction law and EEO policies.

Benefits

The base pay range for this role is $113,500 – $170,300, with higher rates in select locations, and compensation is positioned based on knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. The position is eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan and includes a comprehensive benefits package such as medical, vision, dental, 401(k) match, paid time off, employer‑paid life, AD&D, and disability insurance, mental‑health resources, tuition reimbursement, adoption assistance, and a gym membership discount.
