About the Role
Mortenson is seeking a Superintendent II to coordinate, plan, and supervise assistant superintendents, contractors, and craft activities within a designated discipline, while cultivating strong customer relationships through exceptional service. The position requires leadership across multiple project phases from development through closeout. • Plan and implement to ensure all materials, equipment, and inspections support the project schedule • Review construction and contract documents for completeness and constructability • Coordinate plans and specifications with design engineers, resolving discrepancies • Develop and manage project schedules, including three and six-week look-ahead schedules • Develop a site logistics plan and manage the utilization of Mortenson tools and equipment • Collaborate with project partner superintendents • Conduct on-site project orientations, pre-construction planning sessions, and project site meetings • Supervise project partners, craft foremen, and crews; interview, hire, transfer, and terminate craft team members as needed • Coach and mentor assistant superintendents, craft team members, and other project team members • Ensure proper task coding of work hours on timecards, track work progress and craft productivity • Handle craft team member training and conduct career development discussions • Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels • Lead team members by example, offer effective coaching and feedback, and manage performance • Provide high-level management of safety, quality, risk, and compliance for the project and team members • Recognize and mitigate unfavorable working conditions and identify opportunities to improve processes and procedures

Mortenson’s postings typically remain open for at least five days, and the company is committed to equal employment opportunity for all individuals. • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or 10 years trade experience • Minimum 8 years construction management or related experience • Current driver’s license • Ability to fulfill development to closeout responsibilities for multiple, complex projects • Detail‑oriented with the ability to organize and manage multiple project tasks • Basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills • Positive and professional attitude with strong customer service skills • Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies • Active listening skills and effective communication including openness to diverse input and feedback • Ability to travel up to 100% • Knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity, inclusive behaviors, and affirmative action plans

Benefits
The base salary ranges from $130,100 to $195,200, with higher rates for select locations, and includes eligibility for Mortenson’s incentive plan.
