About the Role
The role provides financial services support to profit centers, performing accounting functions such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, reconciliation, and special services. Key responsibilities include assisting accountants with client billing and receivable requirements, processing vendor and subcontractor invoices, supporting the monthly close process, handling audit requests, facilitating data entry for project invoices, and performing related administrative duties. • Assist accountants to meet client contractual billing and accounts receivable requirements. • Process vendor invoices and ensure timely accounts payable for assigned projects. • Process subcontractor invoices, verify lien waivers, and confirm contracts and insurance compliance. • Support monthly close by posting or accruing client bills and project costs. • Respond to internal and external audit requests. • Enter project-specific vendor invoice data and prepare multi‑project invoices for central finance posting. • Perform administrative invoice duties such as vendor setup, sales/use tax reporting, and handling client tax‑exempt certificates. • Compile supporting documentation for Turner owner payment applications. • Provide periodic progress reports to supervisor. • Maintain professional relationships and adhere to company policies and work hours. • Participate in conferences and learning opportunities offered by the company.

What You Bring
The position is located in Reston, VA (Washington DC Main division) and is a temporary, non‑exempt hourly internship in the Finance job family. It reports to the Accounting Manager, Operational Finance, Accountant, Operational Finance, or Senior Accountant, Operational Finance. Candidates must be enrolled in an accredited four‑year college, preferably studying Accounting or Finance, and possess at least one year of relevant coursework. Required skills include strong interpersonal abilities, organizational detail, clear communication, and proficiency with data entry, databases, MS Office, and intermediate to advanced Excel. The position demands physical ability to navigate construction sites, including climbing stairs and ladders, and may involve lifting heavy items. The work environment is on‑site with exposure to noise, weather, and construction hazards, with reasonable accommodations provided. • Currently enrolled in an accredited 4‑year college, majoring in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with at least one year of coursework. • Demonstrated interpersonal skills through leadership, volunteerism, or community involvement. • Strong organizational abilities, attention to detail, and capability to manage accurate information. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Proficient in data entry, databases, MS Office, and intermediate to advanced Excel.
