About the Role

The intern will work directly with the Manufacturing Engineering team to create standard work instructions, perform time studies, and develop operator loading and capacity charts. They will also assist with continuous‑improvement and cost‑reduction projects, including participation in Kaizen or Rapid Improvement Events, and provide support for new product initiatives and production part validations. Additionally, the role involves helping implement and monitor Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) programs. • Develop standard work instructions and conduct time studies. • Create operator loading and capacity charts. • Participate in Kaizen and Rapid Improvement Events. • Support new product launches and production part validation. • Implement and monitor OEE and TPM programs.

What You Bring

This is a seasonal summer role located at the company’s manufacturing facility in Sherman, Texas. Candidates must live within a 50‑mile radius, as relocation assistance is not provided. Applicants should be a junior or senior enrolled in an accredited university pursuing a B.S. in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Relevant experience in a manufacturing environment or a prior internship, strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality and continuous improvement are required. Proficiency in AutoCAD/SolidWorks and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), as well as strong verbal and written communication skills and a collaborative, team‑focused attitude, are also essential. • Junior or senior Mechanical/Industrial Engineering student with ≥3.0 GPA. • Reside within 50 mi of Sherman, TX (no relocation assistance). • Prior manufacturing or internship experience. • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and detail‑oriented mindset. • Proficient in AutoCAD/SolidWorks and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). • Excellent verbal and written communication; collaborative team player.
