About the Role
The Road Mechanic position supports Sunbelt’s fast‑growing rental business by performing preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a diverse fleet that primarily consists of aerial work platforms, construction tools, and, at specialty locations, large‑scale generators, pumps, HVAC and oil‑&‑gas equipment. The role requires working in remote, safety‑focused environments and aims to minimize equipment downtime. • Work on a variety of makes, models & equipment in challenging remote locations • Develop new skills for a career track in service or operation management • May need to provide mechanic’s tools of trade • Perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs to keep equipment operational • Service a fleet that includes aerial work platforms, generators, pumps, HVAC and oil‑&‑gas equipment • Follow safety protocols to minimize downtime and protect personnel

What You Bring
Successful candidates typically hold a high school diploma or GED, with trade school training and 3‑5 years of experience on diesel, heavy‑construction, or specialty equipment preferred. A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are required, and a CDL may be needed in some locations. Key competencies include knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems, the ability to troubleshoot, flexibility to adapt to changing priorities, and, where needed, the provision of personal tools. Bilingual ability in Spanish or another language may be required based on location. The position demands physical activities such as bending, squatting, reaching, and lifting 50 lb or more, performed both indoors and outdoors.
