About the Role

The Acquisition Program Support Engineer serves as an advisor to multiple government program acquisition efforts, helping transition current document‑based system engineering approaches to modernized techniques and tools. This role supports the acquisition of major system capabilities and is contingent upon contract award. The engineer works closely with contracting officers, developers, and stakeholders to ensure successful program execution. • Write Statement of Work for major system acquisition. • Define proposal acceptance criteria and monitor developer cost, schedule, and performance. • Review CDRLs and provide innovative acquisition recommendations. • Oversee task order execution on large IDIQs for enterprise software and services. • Advise Contracting Officer Technical Representative on performance analysis and evaluation. • Translate Agile solution epics into system requirements and program epics for release planning. • Identify risks and propose unique solutions to complex technical problems. • Review contractor submissions for technical accuracy and deliver critical analysis.

What You Bring

The position requires extensive expertise in acquisition support, risk identification, and technical analysis, enabling the engineer to guide cost, schedule, and performance assessments and provide strategic recommendations. By translating agile development artifacts into actionable system requirements, the engineer bridges the gap between software development and acquisition processes. The role also involves evaluating contractor deliverables for technical accuracy and delivering critical feedback to government personnel. Qualified candidates possess advanced education and several years of experience in systems engineering technical assistance, with a strong background in acquisition support and SIGINT compliance. Desired expertise includes familiarity with DoD/IC acquisition processes, agile frameworks such as SAFe, and architecture standards like DoDAF or UAF, as well as proficiency with tools like Confluence and JIRA. An active TS/SCI clearance with a CI polygraph is required. • 10-12 years (BS/BA) or 8-10 years (MS/MA) or 5-7 years (PhD) experience. • 5+ years Systems Engineering Technical Assistance (SETA) focused on acquisition support. • Familiarity with SIGINT compliance standards and related training requirements. • Experience with systems engineering across the software development life cycle. • Knowledge of Ground Enterprise programs, including EDAP. • Experience with DoD/IC acquisitions and source selection for major system acquisitions. • Proficiency with Confluence, JIRA, and Atlassian commercial tools. • Training or experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodologies. • Experience with DoDAF or UAF architecture frameworks. • Certifications in Systems Modeling Language (SysML).
