About the Role
The Security Specialist will join the BGIS Corporate Security team to manage the security program in alignment with BGIS corporate policies, contracts, and the Industrial Security Manual (ISM) that supports the Government of Canada’s Industrial Security Program. This role focuses on maintaining physical security compliance and providing support for corporate security activities throughout Canada. • Review and process employee, agency, and contractor site access and ID credential requests. • Administer and maintain BGIS access control and CCTV systems. • Ensure physical security systems remain functional and compliant with ISO 27001. • Act as the initial point of contact for security incidents and manage the intrusion alarm call‑tree. • Conduct scheduled and random physical access reviews to verify policy compliance. • Create, implement, and execute site access request, approval, and annual review processes. • Perform data entry and document assessments for the Vendor Security Compliance Program. • Manage visitor and clearance logs, card issuance, badge control, and key access. • Coordinate with guard forces and facility managers to maintain security perimeters and zones. • Develop, maintain, and update site‑specific security plans. • Write and update formal security policies, guidelines, and procedures. • Analyze security data using Microsoft Excel and present findings. • Obtain or maintain Infrastructure Ontario OPS and OPP security clearances.

What You Bring
Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree or higher, possess at least five years of experience in physical security, and have technical training in security disciplines, document control, and visitor access. Proficiency with C‑Cure access control, Exacq CCTV systems, ISO 27001 standards, and Microsoft Office, especially Excel for data analysis, is required. Strong communication, leadership, and the ability to manage high‑priority tasks in a fast‑paced environment are essential.
