About the Role
In this role you will act as the on‑site project leader, planning, implementing, and completing control‑systems projects for assigned customers. You will oversee hardware design, system programming, installation coordination, commissioning, and project closeout while maintaining a balance between customer satisfaction and financial results. You will manage project budgets, billings, and collections, actively pursue change orders, and ensure warranty execution. Communication with the client throughout all phases, direction of subcontractors and technicians, and adherence to state, local, and federal regulations are essential. Technical execution includes detailed hardware design, software programming, material procurement, vendor pricing, and oversight of subcontractor payments. You will coordinate jobsite layouts, load and verify devices, commission controllers, validate system functionality, and provide accurate as‑built documentation and manuals. The position also involves mentoring system technicians and installers, providing technical assistance, preparing warranty letters, and delivering owner/operator training on the completed system. Maintaining long‑term relationships with contractors, clients, consultants, and ensuring safety standards are met are key responsibilities. • Lead on‑site control‑systems projects from planning through closeout. • Design hardware and program software for digital HVAC control systems. • Coordinate installations, commissioning, and warranty execution. • Manage project financials, including costs, billing, collections, and change orders. • Communicate technical information to customers, staff, and subcontractors. • Procure materials, secure pricing, and oversee subcontractor payments. • Ensure compliance with legal, safety, and Johnson Controls standards. • Mentor technicians, installers, and designers; provide technical assistance. • Prepare as‑built documentation, manuals, and warranty letters. • Develop and maintain relationships with contractors, clients, and consultants.

What You Bring
Required qualifications include an associate’s degree in a technical field (or four years of equivalent HVAC experience) and at least two years of hands‑on experience designing and commissioning digital HVAC controls. Candidates must be able to convey technical information to non‑technical audiences and work independently. Preferred skills are strong PC proficiency, knowledge of control theory and HVAC systems, and familiarity with project accounting.
