About the Role
The Senior Project Engineer serves as the technical source of information for construction projects, possessing thorough knowledge of construction documents, subcontracts, and purchase orders. The role involves responding to queries on drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and change orders while maintaining professional relationships with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers. The position may also assist in supervising and training Field Engineers and is organized into three progressive steps based on experience. Key responsibilities include understanding and executing all components of the Project Management Plan—scope, procurement, environmental, schedule, financial, quality, safety, and risk management—and managing the change management process. The engineer develops procurement schedules aligned with the CPM schedule, procures materials and equipment, coordinates submittals, and ensures compliance with contract documents. Additional duties involve budgeting, cost control, maintaining as‑built documents, preparing close‑out packages, and overseeing concrete form design and related takeoffs. • Lead project scope, procurement, schedule, cost, quality, safety, and risk management per PMP • Manage change orders and time extensions; maintain change order log • Develop and integrate procurement schedule with CPM schedule; procure materials and equipment • Coordinate and review submittals for contract compliance • Administer budgeting, cost control, and financial adjustments • Maintain as‑built documents and compile close‑out packages (manuals, warranties) • Participate in concrete form design, equipment selection, and quantity takeoffs • Supervise and develop project team members to ensure execution • Prepare quantity reports, meeting agendas, minutes, and project logs • Identify, quantify, and mitigate potential claims • Work in a safety‑sensitive environment complying with all safety standards

What You Bring
The role requires an advanced knowledge of construction engineering technology and codes, a four‑year construction‑related degree or equivalent training, and three to four years of comparable experience. Strong communication, interpersonal, and team‑leadership skills are essential, as is the ability to supervise or train Field Engineers when needed. Physical requirements include wearing PPE, frequent reaching, occasional stooping, and the ability to lift, carry, and navigate stairs or ladders, all within a safety‑sensitive environment. • Bachelor’s degree in construction engineering or related field (or equivalent training) • 3–4 years of construction engineering experience; 6+ years for senior step • Advanced knowledge of construction codes, standards, and inter‑departmental interfaces • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team‑leadership abilities • Ability to supervise and train Field Engineers • Must wear required PPE (steel‑toed shoes, hard hat, safety glasses, etc.) • Capable of frequent reaching, occasional stooping, lifting, and climbing stairs/ladders
