About the Role

The SME will collaborate closely with Reward, HR, HRIS and business stakeholders to deliver annual compensation cycles, resolve issues and drive ongoing improvements across the organisation. The position involves configuring, testing and deploying changes in Workday Compensation, including plans, merit, bonuses, allowances, grades, ranges and eligibility rules, as well as designing and maintaining compensation frameworks aligned with the company’s pay philosophy. Cycle management responsibilities include preparing and managing compensation review events, coordinating UAT, performing data validations and securing stakeholder sign‑offs while delivering clear communication and training for HR and managers. The role serves as a trusted advisor to Reward and HR teams, translating business needs into configuration requirements, supporting scenario modelling and guiding best‑practice use of Workday capabilities. Key data responsibilities include building and maintaining compensation reports, dashboards and audit outputs, ensuring data accuracy, integrity and compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards. Continuous improvement duties involve identifying efficiency opportunities, reducing manual workarounds, staying current with Workday releases and supporting integration touch‑points such as Payroll, Finance, Talent and Recruiting. • Configure, test and deploy Workday Compensation changes (plans, merit, bonuses, allowances, grades, ranges, eligibility rules). • Design and maintain compensation frameworks supporting the organisation’s pay philosophy. • Own set‑up and execution of annual compensation cycles (merit, bonus, salary reviews). • Prepare and manage compensation review events, templates, calculations and stakeholder sign‑offs. • Coordinate UAT cycles, perform data validation and provide training for HR and managers. • Act as go‑to expert for Reward and HR teams, advising on Workday capabilities and best practices. • Translate business requirements into Workday configuration solutions. • Build, refine and maintain compensation reports, dashboards and audit outputs. • Ensure data accuracy, integrity and compliance with internal policies and regulations. • Identify and implement process efficiencies, reduce manual workarounds and adopt new Workday features. • Support integration with Payroll, Finance, Talent and Recruiting to maintain downstream data quality.

What You Bring

Candidates must have proven experience as a Workday Compensation SME or consultant, hands‑on configuration expertise, strong analytical and troubleshooting skills and the ability to lead testing cycles and manage change control. Preferred experience includes UK compensation practices, exposure to additional Workday modules, and the ability to operate in a global, matrixed environment with a data‑focused, improvement‑oriented mindset. • Demonstrated experience as a Workday Compensation SME, consultant or advanced analyst. • Hands‑on configuration experience with base pay, advanced compensation, merit/bonus cycles. • Strong analytical, troubleshooting and data validation skills. • Excellent stakeholder management, communication and documentation abilities. • Experience with UK compensation and reward practices (preferred). • Exposure to other Workday modules such as Talent, HCM, Advanced Compensation, Payroll (preferred). • Ability to work autonomously in a fast‑paced, global matrix environment.
