About the Role
As a Tower Technician I you will install, maintain, and operate wired, wireless, fiber optic, and microwave telecommunications equipment, adhering to MasTec’s Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and industry standards such as OSHA and TIA‑10‑48. You will climb towers and ladders, erect various tower types, offload material, manage inventory, and prepare sites for work. Additional duties include installing carriers on new and existing towers, assembling monopoles and other tower structures, and installing antennas, transmission lines, and electrical foundations. You will also assist with helicopter, crane, and gin‑pole operations and perform other tasks as assigned. • Install, maintain, and operate wired, wireless, fiber optic, and microwave telecom equipment. • Follow MasTec Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and industry standards (OSHA, TIA‑10‑48, NATE CTS, ANSI). • Climb towers and ladders to perform work at various heights. • Erect various tower types and assist with helicopter, crane, and gin‑pole operations. • Offload material, manage inventory, and prepare/clean sites. • Install new carriers on new‑build and existing towers. • Assemble monopole, weld, knock‑down self‑support, and guyed towers. • Install microwave, VHF, UHF, cellular, and FM broadcast antennas. • Install transmission lines, including foam/air dielectric coaxial, hardline, and elliptical waveguides. • Perform electrical site foundation, grounding, conduit installation, and related electrical work.

What You Bring
The ideal candidate is safety‑focused, delivers high‑quality workmanship, and enjoys solving complex, hands‑on problems on long‑term projects. A high school diploma or equivalent with at least eight years of relevant experience is required, along with the ability to read and follow printed instructions and a working knowledge of safety regulations; an NWSA certification is a plus. Physical requirements include the ability to climb towers, lift 50 lb, and work up to 12 hours, plus a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record. Availability for weekends, nights, extreme weather, extensive travel, and work away from home is essential. • Demonstrated safety focus and high‑quality workmanship. • Strong problem‑solving and hands‑on technical skills. • Ability to work long‑term projects and in team environments. • High school diploma/GED with at least 8 years relevant experience. • Ability to read and follow printed instructions. • Working knowledge of safety standards and regulations; NWSA certification a plus. • Physical ability to climb towers, lift 50 lb, and work up to 12 hours. • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record. • Availability for weekends, nights, extreme weather, and extensive travel. • Willingness to work away from home as required.
