About the Role

The Senior Estimator is responsible for analyzing blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to develop accurate time, cost, and labor estimates for projects. This role also leads and mentors Estimators and Estimators II, guiding them as they build their skills. The position operates remotely or from the Wolcott, CO office and is classified as exempt. In this role, the Senior Estimator ensures competitive proposals are prepared and submitted, manages client and vendor interactions, and maintains up‑to‑date knowledge of ASTM and building codes across all trades. The estimator also supports training initiatives, develops cost comparison analyses, and models Gallegos’ values and mission. Although the position does not have direct supervisory authority, it coordinates and delegates tasks to junior estimators. • Respond to client questions on VE and design details with leadership input • Manage follow‑up on recently submitted bids to ensure timely action • Arrange meetings on project‑specific insurance requirements and OCIP calculations • Represent the company at community and client events, building professional networks • Partner with Regional Presidents to develop clients through scope‑review meetings • Consult with clients, vendors, and others to develop estimates and resolve issues, issuing RFIs and RRQs • Guide and oversee estimating activity to ensure accurate, competitive proposals • Develop and manage client relationships on behalf of the company • Produce cost comparisons post‑project to assess estimate accuracy and identify improvements • Take responsibility for technical proposal submissions with leadership input • Comply with administrative requirements such as time, attendance, and office protocols • Participate in trade organizations to represent the company • Maintain working knowledge of applicable ASTM and building codes for all trades • Assist with training and development of Estimator and Estimator II positions • Develop PJR’s and gather field data for estimating standards analysis • Delegate tasks to Estimators and Estimator IIs and ensure successful handoffs • Manage labor, material, and subcontract costs using budget‑to‑actual knowledge for bids • Create, write, and review technical proposals • Implement pricing exercises and quantity take‑offs for multiple‑trade projects

What You Bring

• 8+ years experience in construction, estimating, or project management • Knowledge of all trades: stone, masonry, stucco, plaster, concrete, marble, and granite • Professional membership with a relevant industry association • Strong time‑management and multitasking abilities • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills • Critical thinker and problem‑solver • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Engineering preferred • Working knowledge of English (reading, writing, speaking)
