About the Role

Key responsibilities include creating and maintaining project‑specific Quality Control Plans, coordinating compliance with the Project Manager, conducting inspections and corrective actions with Site Engineers and the QA/QC team, overseeing testing and reporting non‑conformities, managing documentation, approving materials, delivering training and competency programs, defining Inspection and Test Plans, performing installation inspections, executing testing and commissioning, and handling non‑conformance management. • Develop and maintain project‑specific Quality Control Plans (QCPs). • Coordinate compliance efforts with Project Manager and QA/QC team. • Conduct site inspections and implement corrective actions. • Oversee testing, report non‑conformities, and manage documentation. • Approve materials and ensure specification compliance. • Deliver training and competency programs for workforce expertise. • Define Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and perform installation inspections. • Execute testing and commissioning of HVAC systems. • Manage non‑conformance identification and resolution.

What You Bring

Way Mechanical is seeking an experienced Quality Control Technician to join its team. The technician will develop, implement, and enforce quality standards across all phases of commercial mechanical construction projects, ensuring HVAC, plumbing, piping, and mechanical systems are installed in compliance with contract documents, applicable codes, manufacturer requirements, and company standards. Candidates must have 5–10 years of experience in commercial mechanical construction (HVAC, plumbing, piping), strong knowledge of mechanical systems, installation methods, and industry standards, and a thorough understanding of relevant mechanical and plumbing codes. Experience with quality control processes on large commercial projects, ability to read construction drawings, specifications, and submittals, and proficiency in documentation and reporting using construction management software are required. Experience in healthcare, higher education, data center, government, or other large‑scale commercial projects is preferred. • 5–10 years experience in commercial mechanical construction (HVAC, plumbing, piping). • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, installation methods, and industry standards. • In‑depth understanding of mechanical and plumbing codes. • Proven experience with quality control processes on large commercial projects. • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and submittals. • Proficiency in documentation and reporting using construction management software. • Experience on healthcare, higher education, data center, government, or similar projects (preferred).
