About the Role
The Truck Driver operates a commercial truck to transport materials to and from designated destinations, handling loading, unloading, and delivery tasks while maintaining safety and compliance. This role requires communication with supervisors, record‑keeping, and the ability to perform inspections and minor repairs under various weather conditions. • Load and unload products using a loader/boom, offload rail cars, place items in yard bunks or onto other trucks/trailers, and deliver to customer yards and job sites. • Maintain records, permits, and valid licenses for assigned equipment. • Assist with maintenance of trucks, yard, and support equipment as required. • Drive to destinations in all weather conditions, including emergency storm response. • Verify quantities, sizes, and types against shipping/receiving tickets; ensure load tickets are signed and submitted promptly. • Keep telephone or radio contact with supervisor for delivery instructions. • Perform daily pre‑ and post‑trip DOT inspections of truck, trailer, boom, and specialty equipment. • Conduct emergency roadside repairs, change lights, fix minor mechanical issues, and install tire chains as needed. • Secure cargo per DOT regulations and adhere to safety, DOT, and OSHA standards. • Participate in the company safety program and perform other related duties as assigned.

What You Bring
Candidates need a one‑year college or technical certificate—or equivalent experience—and 2 to 4 years of commercial trucking experience, preferably with self‑loaders, heavy equipment, and steering trailers. A valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License is required, along with basic literacy and numeracy skills for handling documentation and measurements. • One‑year college/technical certificate or equivalent combination of education and experience. • 2–4 years of commercial trucking experience; experience with self‑loaders, heavy equipment, and steering trailers preferred. • Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License. • Basic literacy: read simple words, write and speak simple sentences; basic numeracy for money, weight, volume, and distance calculations. • Ability to purchase company stock and equal‑opportunity employment for veterans and disabled individuals.
