About the Role
The role involves collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, driving continuous improvement, and contributing to net‑zero carbon transition through proactive identification and management of emissions during project delivery. • Conduct feasibility studies and advise on procurement strategies and contract selection • Apply value management techniques at project outset • Manage, estimate and present final cost plans • Assist in procurement and selection of main contractor • Prepare contract documents, warranties, bonds and licences • Advise on administration of building contract terms • Measure work valuations and adjust variations per contract terms • Provide cost control and reporting services throughout the contract • Prepare financial reports for the client as required • Identify costs linked to design changes, contract awards and construction activities • Participate in evaluating contractor claims for delay and additional costs • Advise on issuance of practical completion certificates and negotiate final accounts • Support issuance of defect‑making‑good certificates and ensure final completion compliance • Deliver improvements in systems and processes, driving transformational change • Provide guidance and direction to Assistant Cost Consultant and junior team members • Mentor junior staff informally and through training • Develop and manage effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders • Collaborate towards net‑zero carbon transition and manage associated emissions

What You Bring
• Understand sustainability, social value and carbon‑reduction issues • Possess strong knowledge of industry best practice • Hold a degree in quantity surveying or cost management (or equivalent) • Be a member of, or working towards, a professional body such as MRICS/RICS • Demonstrate sector‑specific expertise and relevant technical qualifications • Experience with various forms of construction contracts and contract administration • Proven experience in cost consultancy, including cost planning, budgeting and estimating • Strong analytical, negotiation and problem‑solving skills • Digital competence and ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders • Ability to identify and implement improved working practices
