About the Role

The Maintenance Technician supports the operation, troubleshooting, diagnostics, housekeeping, and repairs of commercial buildings, industrial systems, vehicles, grounds, and maintenance equipment for assigned properties. This role ensures facilities remain functional and safe, handling a wide range of systems and equipment. • Assist with troubleshooting and repairs of building systems, including packaging machinery, plumbing, kitchen equipment, roofs, drains, grounds equipment, and HVAC. • Clean, lubricate, and service pumps, valves, pneumatic controls, electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic devices. • Install and modify building equipment and systems. • Replace and repair building finishes such as ceiling tiles, door hardware, wallpaper, and paint walls, piping, floors, and equipment. • Evaluate and recommend upgrades to maintenance operations and savings opportunities. • Apply knowledge of tools and equipment used in facility and ground maintenance. • Respond immediately to emergency situations and customer service requests. • Inspect buildings, grounds, and equipment for unsafe or malfunctioning conditions and perform preventative maintenance. • Maintain and operate fire and life safety systems, including fire alarms and fire pumps. • Perform carpentry and snow removal as needed. • Comply with applicable codes, regulations, agency directives, and safe work practices. • Use technology such as smartphones, tablets, computers, web applications, and building automation systems. • Follow C&W uniform dress code and maintain a neat appearance on and off duty.

The position requires technical proficiency, initiative, flexibility, multi‑tasking, and a sense of urgency. Candidates must possess at least a high school diploma or GED and have two or more years of experience in a commercial property setting. Additional qualifications include technical or vocational training in areas such as HVAC, electrical, mechanical, process controls, power transmissions, painting, plumbing, carpentry, or engine repair. A valid driver’s license with a clean record is required, and basic computing skills in Outlook, Excel, and Word are expected. The role may involve extended shifts, on‑call duty, and occasional overtime. Work is performed in a professional office environment using standard equipment, while also requiring frequent movement around facilities, inspections, and manual tasks.
