About the Role
The Project Manager will lead teams in developing design packages, defining scope, establishing schedules, setting milestones, and identifying resource needs. Strong knowledge of power sector and electrical design is required. They will coordinate daily activities with internal teams, clients, vendors, and contractors to keep tasks on schedule, monitor key performance indicators, identify risks, and report progress to senior leadership. Additional duties include budget support, documentation preparation, and adherence to WSP’s Code of Conduct. • Lead multidisciplinary engineering design projects for Federal clients such as USACE, MDA, and NAVFAC. • Define project scope, schedules, milestones, and resource requirements. • Coordinate daily activities with internal teams, clients, vendors, and contractors. • Monitor key performance indicators, identify risks, and report progress to senior management. • Assist with budget tracking, cost estimation, and expense control. • Prepare and maintain project documentation, including reports, minutes, risk assessments, and change orders. • Ensure ethical decision‑making and compliance with WSP’s Code of Conduct.

What You Bring
WSP is searching for an experienced Project Manager for its Birmingham, Alabama office to lead engineering and design projects for the US government and military sector. The role involves managing large and mid‑size multidisciplinary projects for Department of Defense clients such as USACE, MDA, and NAVFAC. Candidates must have 10+ years of post‑education project management experience in architecture, engineering, or construction, a bachelor’s degree in engineering, and 3‑5 years managing Federal design projects. US citizenship, PE or PMP certification, and the ability to work on‑site in Birmingham are required.
