About the Role
• Develop detailed cost estimates for civil, structural, and mechanical components, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontracted work. • Determine project indirect costs such as general conditions, management staff, temporary facilities, equipment, markups, and contingency. • Analyze drawings, specifications, site data, and requirements to assess constructability and cost impacts. • Identify estimating processes and project actions that may affect the project. • Support project teams in budgeting, value‑engineering, and alternative construction approaches. • Prepare quantity takeoffs using industry‑standard tools and software. • Create crew build‑ups and determine production rates. • Solicit, evaluate, and level vendor and subcontractor quotes. • Develop Work Breakdown Structures. • Manage estimate preparation and lead estimate reviews. • Collaborate with project management, engineering, and procurement to ensure estimate accuracy and alignment. • Initiate preparation of Estimate Plan, Basis of Estimate, and qualifications. • Prepare bid tabulations responding to RFP requirements. • Collect, analyze, and archive project data; develop historical documentation. • Compare current project estimates with previous performance and market benchmarks. • Supervise junior staff, set goals, and document performance.

What You Bring
AECOM is seeking a detail‑oriented, mid‑level Industrial Construction Estimator with strong experience across civil, structural, and mechanical disciplines. The role supports all estimate classes—from preliminary budgeting and cost modeling to detailed engineer estimates—for large energy projects such as power plants, grid modernization, oil & gas, chemicals, water, wastewater, nuclear, carbon capture, microgrids, solar, and battery storage. The position is remote‑flexible and may be based at various Energy offices across the United States. Candidates must hold a BA/BS in engineering or construction from an ABET‑accredited institution and have at least eight years of estimating experience, with US citizenship required. Preferred qualifications include 7‑10 years of industrial or heavy‑civil estimating, proficiency with software like Trimble WinEstimator, ACCE, Bluebeam, HeavyBid, or similar, and solid knowledge of construction methods, cost drivers, and labor productivity. • Apply knowledge of planning and scheduling.
