About the Role

The Building Technician role supports operational and preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnostics, housekeeping, and repairs across commercial and industrial properties, handling systems such as HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and grounds equipment. The position works a Monday‑Friday day shift with possible overtime or on‑call duties. • Assist with troubleshooting and repairs of buildings and installed systems including packaging and handling machinery, air compressors, plumbing systems, kitchen equipment, roofs, drains, shop equipment, grounds equipment, and HVAC systems. • Assist with installation and modification of building equipment and systems. • Review, create, and maintain assigned work orders with associated paperwork within digital computerized maintenance management system. • Replace and repair building finishes such as ceiling tiles, door hardware, wallpaper, and can paint walls, piping, floors and equipment. • Inspect buildings, grounds, and equipment for unsafe or malfunctioning conditions, perform both reactive & preventative maintenance. • Maintain and operate fire and life safety systems such as fire alarm systems, fire pumps and related fire protection system equipment. • Identify and work with potential outside contractors/vendors from sourcing to quotation to job completion. • Respond immediately to emergency situations and customer service requests as assigned, including a potential rotating on-call schedule. • Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency, and company directives related to building operations and practice safe work habits. • Complete all required safety training as scheduled monthly/annually. • Comply with company dress code while working and maintain a neat and clean appearance while on the property at times other than working hours.

What You Bring

Candidates must have technical or vocational training in relevant trades, at least three years of property maintenance experience, a valid driver’s license, basic computer skills, EPA licensing or eligibility, and a high school diploma or GED. Success in the role relies on strong technical proficiency with HVAC, mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, troubleshooting ability, flexibility to deliver critical services, effective multitasking and prioritization, and a proactive sense of urgency. The job blends office and industrial environments, requiring regular use of maintenance tools, computers, and communication devices. Physical demands include ladder work, lifting up to 50 lb, outdoor work year‑round, and occasional extended periods without relief during emergencies. • Technical, vocational, or on-the-job training in HVAC, electrical, mechanical, building construction, & plumbing. • 3+ years of related experience in a property maintenance setting. • Possess and maintain a valid driver's license (commercial license may be required) and good driving record with periodic checks. • Basic computing skills in Outlook, Excel, and Word. • Current possession of EPA licensing or ability to become registered. • High school diploma or GED equivalent. • Technical proficiency with HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and/or plumbing. • Technical proficiency and comfort with troubleshooting various mechanical systems. • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work requests received. • Sense of urgency & personal initiative to succeed. • This position requires HVAC repair & mechanical troubleshooting skills. • Understand paperwork associated with a purchase order system. • Experience and/or certification on aerial & man-lifts is beneficial. • Possess competent knowledge of the use and care of tools and equipment used in facility and grounds maintenance. • Ability to use technology such as smartphones, tablets, computers, web-based applications, building automation systems, etc.

Benefits
