About the Role
As a Remediation Field Technician in our Portland/Seattle office, you will support a diverse range of projects across Oregon and Washington. You will serve as a trusted point of contact for clients, collaborate with contractors, and take ownership of your work on site. Each day brings new challenges, requiring creativity and innovation. The role involves operating and maintaining remediation systems, collecting various environmental samples, and conducting daily safety briefings and field documentation. You will also prepare compliance reports, interpret regulatory standards, and provide recommendations to improve system performance. Adherence to health, safety, and environmental policies is essential. • Operate, start up, and troubleshoot soil vapor extraction and dual phase extraction remediation systems. • Collect groundwater, surface water, soil vapor, soil, and process samples for analysis. • Conduct daily tailgate safety briefings, prepare field notes, and complete O&M forms and checklists. • Prepare environmental compliance documentation and monitor contractor activities. • Interpret data, advise managers on procedures, and recommend system improvements. • Follow health, safety, and environment (HSE) policies to mitigate risks and protect the environment. • Prioritize workflow to meet productivity, quality, and timeliness standards. • Maintain a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and comply with drug‑free workplace policies.

What You Bring
We seek candidates with an associate’s degree in physical science, mechanical systems, or a related field, or comparable on‑the‑job experience. At least two years of remediation and operations & maintenance experience, strong mechanical diagnostic skills, and the ability to work independently are required. Candidates must possess a valid driver’s license, be willing to travel for up to a week, and be able to perform physically demanding field work. • Hold an associate’s degree in physical science, mechanical systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience). • Minimum of 2 years remediation and operations & maintenance experience with strong mechanical diagnostic skills. • Work independently, travel up to one week at a time, and perform physically demanding field tasks. • Proficient in Microsoft Office; 40‑hour HAZWOPER certification preferred.

Benefits
GHD offers a competitive hourly salary of $32‑$54 based on experience, 401(k) eligibility after three months, PTO beginning at 16 days and increasing with tenure, holiday pay for nine company holidays, and a wellness reimbursement program up to $250 per year. The position is field‑based and supports a drug‑free workplace. • Eligibility for 401(k) after 3 months, PTO starting at 16 days, holiday pay for 9 holidays, and wellness reimbursement up to $250 annually.
