About the Role

At MasTec Communications Group, a Tower Technician II helps build the future by installing, maintaining and operating telecommunications equipment in a safety‑first environment. The role offers the chance to develop new skills while contributing to reliable service for customers and communities. • Install, maintain, and operate wired, wireless, fiber optic, and microwave telecommunications equipment. • Follow MasTec Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and industry standards (OSHA, TIA‑10‑48, NATE CTS, ANSI). • Climb towers and ladders to perform work at various heights. • Erect various tower types, including monopole, self‑support, and guyed towers. • Off‑load material, manage inventory, and prepare/clean job sites. • Install carriers on new‑build and existing towers. • Assist tower erection using helicopters, cranes, and gin poles. • Assemble tower components such as welds, knock‑down, and self‑support structures. • Install antennas (microwave parabolic, VHF, UHF, cellular, FM broadcast). • Install transmission lines, including foam/air dielectric coaxial, hardline, and waveguide. • Complete foundation, grounding, conduit, and related electrical installations. • Mentor less experienced technicians on safety and technical tasks.

What You Bring

• Hold a high school diploma and at least two years of tower experience. • Ability to read and follow printed instructions and technical drawings. • Working knowledge of safety standards; PWSA certification is a plus. • Physically capable of climbing towers, lifting 50 lb, and working up to 12 hours per day. • Maintain a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. • Demonstrate a strong safety mindset, high‑quality workmanship, and problem‑solving skills.
