About the Role

The role involves leading the scheduling team, coaching field personnel, ensuring resources and support for crews, and implementing Mortenson’s Zero Injury Safety Program while managing union and open‑shop issues and maintaining relationships with customers, architects, and subcontractors. • Provide oversight of all planning and scheduling activities. • Plan, coordinate, supervise, and direct scheduling efforts. • Ensure corporate planning and schedule standards are implemented and compliance is maintained. • Supervise and mentor the scheduling team and field personnel. • Foster teamwork and guarantee crews have necessary resources and support. • Give work direction, conduct performance evaluations, and identify hiring needs. • Participate in hiring, discipline, and dismissal decisions as needed. • Develop leadership potential through task assignments and career growth opportunities. • Implement Mortenson’s Zero Injury Safety Program on site. • Manage open‑shop and union issues. • Maintain relationships with customers, architects, union representatives, subcontractors, and other site visitors. • Manage site work and logistics efficiently, recommending improvements.

What You Bring

Mortenson is seeking an experienced Senior Scheduler I who will oversee all planning and scheduling activities, interact with staff at every level, and maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality in a dynamic environment. The position does not offer visa sponsorship and requires legal authorization to work in the U.S.; postings typically remain open for a minimum of five days. • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field. • Minimum of four years construction experience or equivalent training and experience. • Project engineer experience desirable. • Excellent oral and written communication and active listening skills. • Ability to travel as required. • Thorough knowledge of scheduling concepts, principles, practices, and company software. • Understanding of standard construction practices and project sequencing. • Creative problem‑solving and mature judgment on complex projects. • Strong plan, specification reading, review, and interpretation skills. • Basic knowledge of project management, contracts, and buyout. • Working knowledge of 4D visual planning methodologies. • Strong organization, teamwork, and analytical abilities. • Basic knowledge of cost‑ and resource‑loaded schedules and claims avoidance techniques. • Ability to work cross‑functionally in a collaborative environment.
