About the Role

The Human Resources Manager I role is responsible for the HR function at the plant level, partnering daily with plant management as an engaged member of the management team. The HRM oversees all aspects of HR, including safety, performance management, succession planning, policy maintenance, employee relations, job description upkeep, workers’ compensation, disciplinary actions, wage administration, benefits, headcount, hiring, onboarding, recruiting, training, terminations, and other HR initiatives. • Work in conjunction with Directors of other Divisions and Shared Services HR departments to develop and/or implement HR policies, practices, and systems that align with corporate standards and meet Division needs. • Communicate and explain Company HR policies and practices to managers, employees, and subordinate HR staff within the Division. • Develop staffing plans and forecasts, succession plans, direct recruiting actions, and manage reductions in force. • Identify training and development needs in the Division and assist the Director of Organizational Development in implementing programs and selecting participants. • Develop and implement programs to maintain positive employee relations and build relationships with local communities and business/educational institutions. • Study trends in employment legislation, compensation, and related HR fields to anticipate future issues and opportunities for the business. • Conduct investigations into employee complaints and grievances, ensuring fair and consistent resolution. • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, reviewing policies and practices to uphold best practices. • Handle employment‑related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex or sensitive matters to appropriate staff.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, or a related field (required). • Master’s degree or equivalent preferred; or eight to ten years related experience and/or training. • 3–5 years of Generalist‑type HR work (required). • 5–7 years of progressively responsible HR experience preferred. • PHR, SPHR, or CEBS certifications preferred. • Possess strong leadership skills to guide the team effectively and manage HR operations. • Demonstrate proven time‑management skills with the ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks efficiently. • Exhibit exceptional judgment and common sense, making sound decisions and creating employee‑centric solutions. • Maintain strong interpersonal skills essential for handling employee relations, conflict resolution, and fostering a positive workplace culture.
