About the Role

• Provide pre‑construction support and lead submittal/RFI processes for defined features of work. • Review, organize, and distribute project design and engineering documents. • Prepare and conduct pre‑mobilization kickoff meetings. • Draft, compile, and arrange short‑form subcontracts and purchase agreements with local entities. • Manage quality assurance/quality control according to the Project Quality Plan. • Coordinate DFW preparation meetings, inspections, and punch‑list final inspections. • Handle mechanical, electrical, and plumbing coordination drawings, shop, and as‑built drawings. • Create lift and formwork drawings and administer closeout processes. • Compile turnover documentation and support final inspections with customers. • Participate in project safety audits and champion Mortenson’s Zero Injury Safety Program.

What You Bring

Mortenson is seeking a Safety Engineer who is passionate about safety and eager to influence behavior and drive positive change. In this role you will help maintain a safe work environment on project sites, collaborating with team members, subcontractors, and visitors. The role offers an exciting, ever‑changing industry environment while emphasizing high‑quality service. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship, as visa sponsorship is not available. • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in safety, occupational health, or related field (by summer 2026). • Willingness to relocate frequently for project assignments. • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. • Prior internship experience in a related field. • Minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0. • Basic understanding of construction law and business practices. • Strong collaboration, communication, problem‑solving, initiative, and leadership skills. • Positive professional attitude and exemplary customer service. • Detail‑oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks.
