About the Role
The Project Engineer supports routine construction and field execution, applying company best practices, standards, and tools. The role involves participating in construction management, punch‑list processes, and self‑perform work to gain a comprehensive understanding of how JE Dunn delivers projects, while upholding the firm’s strategy, vision, and values. • Participate actively in safety and quality programs, mentoring others toward an injury‑free environment. • Contribute to project QA/QC planning and ensure task quality. • Assist with estimating, quantity take‑off, and subcontractor proposal reviews. • Monitor on‑site crew size, self‑perform hours, materials, quantities, and equipment. • Support punch‑list creation, city inspections, safety and quality reviews, and related documentation. • Update and post current drawings and specifications. • Organize project meetings and distribute required documentation. • Prepare daily, weekly, and progress reports, including manpower, production schedules, and equipment tracking. • Conduct periodic job‑site observations with project leadership. • Create procurement logs, track shop drawings, and follow up on deliveries. • Provide progress updates to aid scheduling. • Aid project close‑out tasks such as punch‑list completion, O&M manuals, and as‑built drawings. • Apply company best‑practice construction techniques. • Build relationships and communication with tradespeople, foremen, superintendents, and subcontractors. • Demonstrate teamwork and collaboration on project sites. • Incorporate Lean practices into daily activities. • Identify and develop self‑perform opportunities. • Implement project safety plans through training, toolbox talks, and coordination with safety representatives. • Prepare estimates, schedules, work plans, and daily logs. • Pre‑plan crew activities, develop look‑ahead schedules, and update the superintendent. • Manage job set‑up and project administration using CMiC and other technologies. • Coordinate subcontractor scope of work with the project team. • Liaise with internal support functions as directed. • Control costs by evaluating and improving assigned task processes. • Assist in developing and maintaining crew schedules. • Analyze material, equipment, and other costs on site. • Mentor and train less experienced project team members. • Apply Lean process knowledge and construction technology expertise. • Improve labor productivity through self‑perform knowledge. • Assess and optimize overall project productivity. • Build collaborative relationships within internal and external teams.

The position offers a Professional Non‑Union benefits package and may require lifting up to 50 lb, travel, non‑traditional hours, and exposure to extreme conditions.
