About the Role
We are hiring a Business Development Manager to expand our footprint within U.S. Indo‑Pacific Command (INDOPACOM), preferably based in Hawaii. The role is mission‑critical, responsible for identifying, qualifying, and capturing high‑value opportunities with the U.S. military and allied partners, while shaping acquisition strategies and building senior‑level relationships in the region. • Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities within INDOPACOM, the U.S. military, and allied agencies. • Develop market strategies using industry insights, geopolitical trends, and Firestorm’s core capabilities. • Build and execute operationally‑informed plans to capture growth opportunities in INDOPACOM, PACFLEET, USARPAC, and other DoD programs. • Facilitate the capture lifecycle from opportunity identification to proposal submission aligned with regional priorities. • Shape and assist with winning proposals for RFIs, RFPs, ensuring compliance and competitiveness. • Lead strategic engagements with senior INDOPACOM and DoD leaders to influence acquisition decisions. • Drive program planning for key defense initiatives and monitor changes in regional security priorities. • Collaborate with engineering, product, and operations teams to tailor solutions to INDOPACOM requirements, budget, and schedule. • Coordinate cross‑functional efforts to develop competitive responses positioning Firestorm as the preferred provider. • Analyze competitive intelligence and market data to maintain a strategic edge in regional defense contracting. • Represent Firestorm at high‑level industry events and strategic forums in the Indo‑Pacific.

What You Bring
The position can be based in Hawaii or at our San Diego headquarters, requires up to 25% travel domestically and internationally, and operates in a standard office environment that may include typical industrial exposures. Compensation ranges from $152,000 to $193,000 USD, adjusted for experience, location, and market factors. • Minimum 8 years of business development, capture management, or related defense sector experience with U.S. government contracts. • U.S. citizenship required (ITAR) and ability to obtain/maintain a DoD security clearance. • Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time, both domestically and internationally. • Proven expertise in proposal development, responding to RFIs/RFPs, and leading competitive proposals. • Experience in outside sales and lead development for U.S. Federal Government customers, including INDOPACOM or SOCPAC. • Deep knowledge of INDOPACOM’s mission, structure, and defense priorities. • Robust network within the U.S. military and defense agencies with ability to engage senior leaders. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; capable of leading teams and collaborating at all levels. • Demonstrated ability to create and execute business development strategies that secure large‑scale contracts. • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership abilities to align cross‑functional teams. • High level of ownership and willingness to take initiative. • 10+ years of experience in field operations, logistics, or operational leadership (preferred). • Prior military experience, especially in operations or mission command roles (preferred). • Experience with maritime and autonomous defense solutions aligned with INDOPACOM requirements (preferred). • Understanding of regional geopolitical dynamics and U.S. defense strategic needs in the Indo‑Pacific (preferred). • Established relationships with key defense contractors, regional agencies, and intelligence communities (preferred). • Multilingual abilities in Indo‑Pacific languages are a plus (preferred). • Background in startup or high‑growth environments (preferred).
