About the Role
As a site‑based carpenter or joiner you will work on building sites or in domestic and commercial premises, preparing and fixing building components from erection through to the installation of fixtures and fittings, as well as carrying out repair and maintenance tasks on new and existing structures. • Develop and maintain good working relationships. • Read and interpret construction drawings. • Measure and transfer dimensions. • Install first‑fix components. • Install second‑fix components. • Use a range of hand tools. • Set up and operate power tools. • Erect roof structures. • Carry out repairs and maintenance tasks. • Build and maintain customer/client relationships. • Complete pre‑employment assessment and interview. • Participate in the annual Mears Fun Day.
