About the Role

As a Plant Maintenance Technician you will keep the plant operating at peak performance, maintaining equipment such as balers, conveyors, gearboxes, motors, pulleys, shafts, and bearings. You will respond quickly to system failures, diagnose issues, and ensure safe and efficient repairs while reporting to the Plant Maintenance Manager. • Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and diagnose, repair, or rebuild major equipment such as balers, conveyors, hydraulic power packs, eddy currents, electro‑magnetic belts, optical sorters, diverters, compressors, trash compactors, motors, glass breakers, wire‑tie systems, fans, pumps, forklifts, front‑end loaders, and building equipment. • Maintain the Daily Equipment Inspections (DEI) backlog. • Adjust work procedures to meet production schedules and notify the Sr. Plant Maintenance Manager if additional work is needed or cannot be completed within Standard Repair Times. • Inspect the quality of third‑party repairs and rebuilds. • Recommend improvements to enhance production, equipment performance, and product quality. • Respond to emergency breakdown service calls. • Perform work with limited supervision while maintaining high performance standards. • Be flexible with work schedule, including nights and weekends, to meet operational needs. • Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate/OSHA standards and follow Waste Management Safety, Life Critical Rules, and OSHA requirements. • Use motor coordination with arms, hands, fingers, and legs; push, pull, bend, and lift objects greater than 50 lb; work from ladders or raised platforms; stand or work on concrete floors for most of the day; and be exposed to dirt, odors, noise, and weather extremes.
