About the Role

The role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining the electrical components of battery‑electric mining equipment, following defined specifications. The electrician will also commission new equipment and provide training at customer sites, ensuring successful hand‑over and operation. Daily duties include planning and preparing the correct tools and parts, conducting preventive and cost‑efficient repairs, and performing root‑cause analyses as first‑line support. The incumbent will generate maintenance reports, obtain customer authorizations, guide junior staff, coach customer technicians, and suggest improvements to equipment or processes while adhering to all safety and environmental policies. • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical systems of battery‑electric mining equipment per specifications • Commission new equipment and provide on‑site customer training • Plan tools and parts, execute preventive and cost‑efficient repairs • Conduct root‑cause analysis and provide first‑line equipment support • Prepare maintenance reports, obtain customer authorizations, record technical feedback • Assign tasks to junior staff and coach customer technicians • Suggest equipment or process improvements based on field observations • Follow all safety, environmental, and HSE policies; perform risk assessments and maintain a safe work area

What You Bring

Sandvik Mining is looking for a licensed Red Seal Electrician to join its Field Service team in British Columbia on a two‑week fly‑in/fly‑out schedule. Candidates must hold a diploma in a mechanical or electrical field and a Red Seal Heavy‑Duty Electrician licence, with at least three years of experience on mining equipment; prior work with Sandvik gear is advantageous. Strong skills in reading electrical schematics, diagnosing faults, communication, and basic computer use are required, along with a valid driver’s licence, willingness to travel across Western Canada, flexible shift availability, and legal eligibility to work in Canada. • Diploma in mechanical/electrical field and Red Seal Heavy‑Duty Electrician licence • Minimum 3 years experience with mining equipment; Sandvik experience a plus • Proficient in reading electrical schematics and diagnosing electrical faults • Strong written and verbal communication skills; computer literacy (MS Office) • Valid driver’s licence; willingness to travel across Western Canada and work varied shifts • Legally eligible to work in Canada
