About the Role

Interns will work under senior engineers to evaluate and test product design solutions, develop prototypes, and create documentation, gaining experience from proof‑of‑concept through development. • Collaborate with hardware lead to develop and analyze solutions and perform competitive analysis. • Present project summaries to internal stakeholders. • Generate prototypes for testing. • Implement verification and validation test plans, defining methods and acceptance criteria. • Interpret test results and synthesize data for technical written and oral communication. • Create product definition files: schematic capture, PCB/PCBA, BOM, and specifications (Cadence preferred). • Develop, debug, analyze, and conduct root‑cause analysis for hardware and embedded systems from concept to development. • Produce user documentation such as instruction bulletins, safety labels, and product markings.

What You Bring

Candidates should be pursuing a Bachelor’s (or higher) in electrical, computer, or related engineering, have a solid understanding of circuit design and basic EMC, and be comfortable with lab equipment and statistical analysis; firmware experience and Cadence tools are a plus. The role requires full‑time availability in Cedar Rapids for Summer 2026, with a possible part‑time extension into Fall 2026; applicants must already be authorized to work in the United States and no visa sponsorship is provided. • Pursuing a B.S. in Electrical, Computer, or related engineering (M.S./Ph.D. candidates a plus). • Strong understanding of electronic circuits and circuit design. • Basic knowledge of EMC. • Ability to discuss past circuit design projects and articulate role and responsibilities. • Creative and inquisitive mindset for design and system optimization; proficient with electronics lab equipment for test and debug. • Understanding of design‑for‑test, reliability in safety products, and statistical techniques for empirical data analysis. • Familiarity with thermal modeling and magnetics is desirable. • Firmware experience is a plus. • Ability to work full‑time in Cedar Rapids, IA for Summer 2026 with optional part‑time extension.
