SAP ABAP - Technical Delivery Manager

About the Role

The manager will lead and mentor ABAP development teams, ensuring project delivery, run support, capacity and people management. They will oversee the design and delivery of custom solutions in SAP ECC and S/4HANA, enforce coding standards and spearhead critical projects while aligning team planning with organizational goals. Collaboration is key; the role works closely with functional teams, architects, regional leaders and cluster managers to ensure seamless cross‑functional execution and drive continuous innovation and improvement. These interactions support the continuous improvement of processes and solutions. • Lead and mentor ABAP development teams, managing delivery, run support and capacity. • Oversee design and delivery of custom SAP ECC/S/4HANA solutions while enforcing coding standards. • Spearhead critical projects, align team planning with organizational goals, and drive continuous innovation. • Collaborate with functional teams, architects, regional leaders and cluster managers on cross‑functional initiatives. • Provide technical expertise in ABAP (reports, ALV, BADIs, OData, CDS, RAP, CAP, Fiori), S/4HANA tools and integration methods. • Prioritize multiple projects, maintain strong stakeholder communication and strategic problem‑solving. • Inspire and motivate technical teams, adapting to transformation programs such as S/4HANA migration.

What You Bring

The SAP Technical Delivery Manager role located in Bangalore requires 10‑15 years of experience. Reporting to the SAP ABAP Centre of Excellence leader, the manager will balance hands‑on technical expertise with people leadership. The ideal candidate possesses deep ABAP knowledge—including reports, ALV, enhancements, BADIs, OData, CDS Views, RAP, CAP, Fiori, Datasphere and DLC—plus experience with modern SAP tools and integration technologies. Strong leadership, communication, stakeholder management and strategic problem‑solving abilities are essential. Required qualifications include a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or related fields, SAP certifications (optional), and 3‑5+ years in a leadership role such as Team Lead or Technical Manager. Proven experience in managing technical teams, delivering complex SAP projects, resource planning, project management and quality assurance is expected. • Hold a Bachelor’s/Master’s in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or related field; SAP certifications are a plus. • Possess 3‑5+ years in leadership roles with experience in resource planning, project management and quality assurance.
