About the Role
The Treater role focuses on the safe and productive operation of pressure‑treating plants and a 500 hp high‑pressure boiler, working on rotating day, afternoon, or night shifts. The incumbent must comply with the Nova Scotia Pressure Vessels Act, maintain clean and safe working conditions, and communicate any concerns to supervisors, maintenance staff, or the chief engineer. • Operate pressure treating systems and fixation kilns while performing quality control to meet specifications. • Ensure compliance with the Nova Scotia Pressure Vessels Act. • Run a 500 hp high‑pressure boiler and unload chemical deliveries. • Clean and maintain treating equipment, including greasing, filter changes, tank cleaning, and sump pits. • Complete daily plant checklists and report issues to supervisor, maintenance, or chief engineer. • Analyze treating solutions to verify they are within required specifications. • Maintain a clean, safe work environment and follow standard operating procedures.

What You Bring
• Hold a 4th Class Stationary Engineer licence (3rd class considered an asset). • Certified Confined Space Attendant, Fall Arrest, and Transportation of Dangerous Goods. • Effective communication, problem‑solving, prioritization, and time‑management skills. • Ability to train employees. • Intermediate Microsoft Office computer skills.
