About the Role
Build the Future with Us – as a Water Resources Engineer-in-Training in our Calgary office, you’ll help communities grow and adapt to a changing climate. You will contribute to planning and designing storm‑water, drainage, hydrotechnical, and municipal water systems that support safer, more sustainable neighbourhoods. Working alongside experienced engineers across municipal, land‑development, transportation, and renewable‑energy markets gives you hands‑on exposure to diverse projects and real opportunities to grow your career. In this role you will design and support delivery of drainage and storm‑water management solutions for new and existing communities, prepare preliminary to tender‑ready drawings and plans, and develop engineering calculations and technical assessments that guide key decisions. You will build and refine hydrologic and hydraulic models to evaluate system performance, contribute to clear technical reports and documentation, and assist in preparing presentations and proposal content. Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams will integrate water‑resources considerations into broader infrastructure projects, while occasional field work will connect design decisions to real‑world conditions. • Design and deliver drainage, hydrotechnical, and stormwater management solutions for new and existing communities. • Prepare preliminary, detailed, and tender‑ready engineering drawings and plans. • Perform engineering calculations, technical assessments, and develop hydrologic/hydraulic models. • Write clear technical reports, memos, and project documentation for internal and external clients. • Assist with presentations, proposals, and materials showcasing technical solutions. • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate water resources into broader infrastructure projects. • Participate in field activities to validate designs against site conditions.

What You Bring
The ideal candidate holds a degree in civil engineering or a related discipline, is eligible for Engineer-in-Training registration in Alberta, and has 1–4 years of experience in municipal engineering, storm‑water management, and hydraulic modeling. Familiarity with Alberta design standards, tools such as WaterCAD, PCSWMM, MIKE+, InfoWorks, and design platforms like AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and GIS is required. A curiosity‑driven, problem‑solving mindset and eagerness to learn new tools are essential to contribute to meaningful community and infrastructure projects. • Hold a Civil Engineering (or related) degree and be eligible for Engineer‑in‑Training registration in Alberta. • Have 1–4 years of experience in municipal engineering, stormwater management, and hydraulic modeling. • Proficient with WaterCAD, PCSWMM, MIKE+, InfoWorks, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and GIS. • Demonstrate a curiosity‑driven, problem‑solving mindset and eagerness to learn new tools.
