The Higher Education Strategic Account Manager role seeks a seasoned sales professional to drive account management and strengthen key customer relationships within the higher education sector. This position is pivotal for advancing Carrier’s strategic interests and maximizing account performance through high‑level relationship building, offering a path toward future management. The position is remote within the Central US, and candidates must reside near a major airport hub between Texas and Minnesota to facilitate travel. • Bachelor’s degree required. • Minimum 5 years of successful B2B sales or strategic account management experience with large, complex customer relationships. • Ability to travel regularly within the assigned territory for meetings, events, and collaboration. • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, or related field (preferred). • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills to identify and pursue high‑potential growth opportunities. • Knowledge of enterprise‑level building automation and controls systems. • Proven success selling solutions via financial value propositions, including life‑cycle cost analysis and total cost of ownership. • Technical expertise in HVAC systems design and solution development. • Working knowledge of higher‑education procurement practices (state, cooperative, institutional agreements). • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for external customers and cross‑functional internal teams. • High initiative, accountability, and sense of ownership in a fast‑paced environment. • Exceptional follow‑up and execution skills. • Strong organizational and time‑management abilities with attention to detail. • Ability to build rapport and collaborate with equipment, service, and controls teams. • Customer‑centric mindset with commitment to service excellence. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and CRM tools such as Salesforce.

The annual salary ranges from $146,750 to $205,250, with short‑term cash incentives subject to plan requirements.
