About the Role

In this role you will identify risks that could affect wastewater business objectives across the full asset lifecycle and help produce Drainage and Wastewater Management Plans. You will collaborate with Operations, Delivery Teams, the Environment Agency, OFWAT and local authorities, supporting regulatory performance and high‑quality wastewater recycling. You will apply consistent risk identification, scoring, analysis, prioritisation and reporting processes aligned with our asset‑management, risk and resilience frameworks. Using key data sets you will assess asset needs, conduct thorough risk and resilience assessments, and contribute to regulatory submissions and business updates. The position also involves improving asset‑management systems, maintaining high health‑and‑safety standards, and facilitating evidence‑based discussions with stakeholders. • Evaluate risks and hazards against business drivers and targets to assess short‑ and long‑term resilience. • Consistently meet timescales and ensure high‑quality output through effective organization and task prioritization. • Apply high numeracy, literacy and IT proficiency with meticulous attention to detail. • Analyze varied data sources to produce actionable insights for decision‑making. • Translate data into clear, accurate reports that support investment and regulatory submissions.

What You Bring

The role requires strong analytical capabilities and the ability to produce clear, accurate reports that inform investment decisions. Experience with wastewater processes or assets and a background in utilities, engineering or risk‑focused environments is advantageous. • Demonstrate self‑starting initiative, a positive can‑do attitude, and the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders both remotely and on‑site. • Leverage advanced Excel and Word skills for data analysis and reporting. • Desirable: knowledge of wastewater processes or assets and experience in utilities, engineering or risk‑based environments.

Benefits

The Area Risk Specialist role is based in the Hampshire area, with the option to work from our Chichester or Budds Farm offices on a hybrid schedule (three days in the office and the remainder remote). A full driving licence is required for site visits. This permanent position offers a 37‑hour week and a salary up to £48,000, dependent on experience.
