About the Role
The role involves leading cross‑functional teams, applying Systems Engineering throughout the project lifecycle, reviewing designs and cost estimates for compliance, staying current with engineering practices, supporting business development, ensuring quality, negotiating contracts, managing staff, and providing trusted‑advisor services while upholding ethical standards. • Lead cross‑functional engineering, planning, and discipline teams on multiple concurrent Amtrak and Northeast Corridor projects. • Apply Systems Engineering processes across concept, design, procurement, construction, integration, testing, commissioning, and handover phases. • Review traction power and OCS concepts, designs, specifications, and cost estimates for compliance with standards and best practices. • Stay current with the latest traction power and OCS engineering techniques and practices. • Drive business development efforts, including proposal preparation and client presentations. • Participate in WSP’s quality assurance process for all project deliverables. • Lead contract negotiations, technical presentations, and client meetings to resolve project challenges. • Provide performance guidance, mentorship, and leadership to assigned staff. • Collaborate with multidisciplinary professionals to deliver trusted‑advisor services and future‑ready solutions. • Uphold ethical decision‑making regarding company resources and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct.

What You Bring
Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering (master’s preferred), have over ten years of post‑degree experience with Amtrak or similar railroads, demonstrate strong written and interpersonal communication, possess deep systems‑engineering expertise, be skilled in technical document review and problem‑solving, be immediately available to work in the U.S., maintain a solid safety record, and be flexible for occasional travel; professional licensure is a plus. • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field (master’s preferred). • ≥10 years of post‑degree experience in planning, design, procurement, installation, testing, commissioning, project and construction management of traction power and OCS systems for Amtrak or similar railroads. • Professional licensure or certification (preferred). • Advanced written communication and strong interpersonal skills for diverse audiences. • Proven expertise in systems engineering principles and complex technical deliverables. • Demonstrated critical thinking, problem‑solving, and safety‑record compliance. • Immediate availability to work in the United States and flexible schedule for occasional travel.

Benefits
The position offers a salary range of $115,800 to $205,000 plus a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, retirement savings, and various paid leave options; total compensation may vary based on experience, location, and internal equity.
